Ispolaia Rosso IGT

  • Vintage 2009: Bild am Sonntag, 02/06/2013, Martin S. Lambeck: „Top: good spirits on this rainy Spring will come from this Tuscan red wine. The 2009 Ispolaia Rosso belongs this year to the best Italian red wines under €10 that I have tasted.  This best of Italians has up to 85% Italian Sangiovese grapes and 15% Merlot. We serve this seducer at 16 degrees in large Bordeaux glasses.  Aromas of black cherries, dates, blackthorn and a hint of marzipan develops. This wine beats more pricey Italians. Try it with venison medallions with cinnamon and black cherries.”

Ispolaia Merlot IGT

  • Vintage 2015: awarded with the Gold Medal in the Mundus Vini Biofach
  • Vintage 2013: awarded with the Silver Medal in the Mundus Vini Biofach
  • Vintage 2011: Bild am Sonntag, 18/11/2012, Martin S. Lambeck: „Top: the Merlot grape varietal can bring out wonderful wines. For example the 2011 Ispoli Merlot di Toscana. This moderately priced organic wine shows what is possible with a masterly organic production. First: this Merlot is simply delicious. Two: it is quasi architecturally built, dense and noble! The Ispoli has aromas of red bell peppers, black cherries, dates, chocolate and a whiff of marzipan. You do not need to decant it. We serve it in a large Bordeaux glass at 16 degrees Celsius so that the aromas may unfold. This wine tastes clearly as a €20 the bottle wine but costs only half. I serve with it a roasted duck breast with a Port and shallots sauce.”

About Fattoria Ispoli in General

  • I Vini di Veronellli 2004: „This small Chianti Classico winery was one of my most pleasant surprises in the winetasting at the Consorzio del Marchio Storico this year. The wines are quite different, all very full of character and well made.  We hope that many others would follow this example, it is not only those with the big financial means that make good wines.”
